Trina Smith is a co-founder and currently serves as Secretary and Treasurer (2025–2027) of Young Explorers Abroad, a nonprofit dedicated to helping underserved youth ages 15–21 obtain their first passports and gain the skills and confidence to travel internationally.

Trina’s love for exploration has taken her across 15 U.S. states and 17 countries, filling 8 passport pages and counting. Her travels span South Africa, South America, Iceland, Indonesia, Mexico, Singapore, and numerous European destinations. Among her many journeys, Trina treasures Prague, Czech Republic for its stunning architecture, beauty, and affordability, and Verona, Italy for its fashionable people and unforgettable cuisine.

Her passion for travel sparked the creation of her original travel club, CurlFriends Abroad, which later evolved into Ultimate Experience Abroad a community for travelers seeking transformative global adventures. These experiences ignited her vision for Young Explorers Abroad, where she now channels her knowledge and love of travel into opening doors for the next generation.

Trina believes that travel is more than a vacation, it’s an education, a source of confidence, and a bridge to opportunity. Through her leadership, she is committed to empowering young people to see beyond borders and into their futures.
