About Us

Young Explorers Abroad (YEA!)

At Young Explorers Abroad (YEA!), we help African American youth ages 15–21 from underserved communities secure their first U.S. passport after completing our engaging travel education workshop.

For many students, this is their first step toward a world they’ve only imagined. A passport opens doors to study abroad, cultural exchanges, international internships, missions work, and lifelong learning experiences that shape character and expand horizons.

We partner directly with schools, youth programs, community groups, and colleges to deliver our program to students where they are removing barriers and ensuring access for entire groups without the need for individual applications.

Why We Do It?

Too often, young people grow up believing international travel is out of reach. We change that by removing financial and informational barriers, showing students that the world is accessible to them and that they belong in it.

Mission

To inspire, educate, and equip African American youth ages 15–21 to expand their horizons by providing passport access, travel education, and global opportunities.

Vision

A generation of young explorers who see themselves as global citizens, confident, capable, and connected with the courage to pursue opportunities anywhere in the world.
